About Me

Hello! My name is Amy and I am a Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor. Here’s my story:

Prior to becoming a Naturopathic student, I retired as a public school teacher with a degree in Music Education from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. I then earned a Master’s Degree of Educational Arts from Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio and completed Post Graduate work in education with Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio. I also completed additional graduate work at BGSU, and Vandercook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois.

I accomplished the requirements for certification as a Traditional Naturopathic Doctor in February 2016 from The Naturopathic Institute of Therapies and Education in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and I passed the American Naturopathic Medical Certification Board test in October of 2015. I have also completed courses at the International Institute of Reflexology and Clayton College of Natural Health in Birmingham, Alabama.

I love my new career! It allows me to combine my passion for education from my previous career with my lifelong passion for healthy living. I decided to pursue Naturopathy as a career after a near-fatal motorcycle crash threatened to amputate my left leg. I was also told I would likely need to have cadaver parts to help rebuild my right leg and doctors thought I might need bone and skin grafts. My doctors and surgeons were surprised by the healing of both legs facilitated by using natural methods, and the cadaver parts, bone grafts and skin grafts were never needed. My orthopedic surgeon called it a “great save”! Sixteen modern surgeries put my leg back together and traditional natural modalities, natural practitioners, and prayer healed my other injuries and saved my leg. It’s been over 16 years now, and I don’t even walk with a limp! It was truly a healing miracle.

Here I am almost two months after the motorcycle crash.

In  my practice, I provide wellness consultations for holistic health, diet & nutrition counseling, biofeedback, Light Healing Touch, cleansing/detoxifying programs, reflexology and additional natural health modalities. If you are in the Adrian, Michigan area, we can work together in person. If not, I can give suggestions for improved health habits over the phone and provide many services remotely.
